From a well-known grill manufacturer, the Spirit line of gas grills from Weber are the company’s entry-level models.

Weber released the new model of the E-210 for 2018, the Weber Spirit II E-210. We provide a summary of the features the new model has below.
Key Features of the 2018 Weber Spirit II E-210
The first feature that jumps out about the new Weber Spirit II E-210 is that it comes in multiple lid colors. Where previously it only came in black, the Spirit II E-210 is now offered in black, ivory, red, and blue.
The next thing that immediately catches the eye is that the storage cabinet from the previous model has been removed. Weber did this in order to provide additional room and easier accessibility to your tools.
Also “new” is the GS4 Grilling System. This system is comprised of 4 components; (1) the Infinity Ignition, (2) burners, (3) Flavorizer Bars and (4) Grease Management System. While not previously marketed as a complete grilling system, these features were found in the older model of the Spirit E-210.
The new 2018 model is compatible with iGrill 3, an app-connected thermometer with meat probes for precise temperatures of your meat. Lastly, a natural gas version of the grill is offered in addition to the propane model.
Features that remain unchanged in the 2018 model include:
- 2 stainless steel burners with 26,500 BTU output
- 360 square inches of primary cooking area, enough space to grill for 3 to 4 people. There is also a 90 square inch warming rack.
- Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates make for superior heat retention and gives your meat those nice looking grill marks
- Porcelain enameled flavorizer bars and lid
- Warranty is part specific and ranges from 2 to 10 years
- Fuel gauge for liquid propane models means you’ll never run out of gas halfway through a cook
The left side shelf folds down to take up less space when not in use. On the older model, both shelves folded down, however, only one does on the new model.

Weber Spirit II E-210 Detailed Review
Weber’s Spirit line of grills range from smaller 2 burner models to a 3 burner + side burner variants. The Spirit II E-210 sits at the bottom of the family as a simple 2 burner model.
Design and Build Quality
The Spirit II E-210 is well built; the cookbox and shroud are made from cast aluminum which is more durable than sheet metal commonly found in other grills. Additionally, the shroud is porcelain enameled which helps prevent fading, peeling and rusting and is easier to clean.
The lid includes a center-mounted thermometer although we always recommend having a good digital thermometer on hand.
The side shelves and burner tubes are stainless steel and the cooking grates are porcelain-enameled cast iron which provides superior heat retention and searing compared to thinner wire grill grates. Also, the cooking grates don’t require seasoning and are good to go right out of the box.
The Weber Spirit II E-210 is powered by a 20-lb tank (sold separately) and has a built-in fuel gauge (which determines remaining fuel by the weight of the tank) so you always know how much propane you have.
The stainless steel side shelves provide room for food platters and prep work. Additionally, each shelf has 3 tool hooks on the ends which provide a convenient place to hang grill brushes, tongs, etc. The Spirit II E-210’s left shelf can fold down when not in use.
The 2018 Weber Spirit II E-210 weighs 100 pounds, 14 pounds lighter than the older model. While the previous model sat on 4 casters, the new model has 2 wheels.
Ease of Assembly
Assembling the Spirit II E-210 is relatively easy and straightforward.
The firebox and gas line come pre-assembled, you just have to assemble the cart and attach the components. Most people can do this in approximately 2 hours.
Ease of Use
The electronic Crossover ignition is system is very reliable. A single AA battery powered igniter lights the first burner which then allows the other burners to be lit off of it.
Swapping out the propane tank is relatively straight-forward and the porcelain on the grates and flavorizer bars make them easy to clean.
Quality of the Cook
The E-210 provides even heat in both direct and indirect cooking and comes up to temperature relatively quickly. The cast iron cooking grates provide excellent heat retention and distribute heat consistently across the surface.
The porcelain coated flavorizer bars catch drippings and vaporize them into smoke, thus returning more flavor to the food.
Additionally, they also channel any droppings not vaporized away from the burner tubes and into the grease management system which helps prevent flare-ups and clogged burner tubes.
The flavorizer bars also distribute heat very evenly throughout the grill, making the Spirit II E-210 one of the best grills for indirect cooking and smoking.
Additionally, the solid cast aluminum construction of the shroud and single vent also contribute the superior indirect cooking performance of the E-210.
Ease of Cleanup
The E-210 has a grease management system which makes cleanup straight forward. Any juices and meat bits not vaporized by the flavorizer bars are caught by the grease tray which angles them into the catch pan.
Both the grease tray and catch pan are easily removable for cleaning. The catch pan can be discarded for another, or you can line it with aluminum foil for multiple uses.
The burner tubes can also be easily cleaned with a simple stainless steel grill brush.
Price
For the included features, the Weber Spirit II E-210 is on the more pricey end of the spectrum.
However, as with most things, you get what you pay for and the Spirit II E-210’s cast aluminum cookbox and shroud well last much longer than grills which are built of sheet metal.
Weber’s build quality, as well as its customer support and warranty, make the Spirit II E-210 worth the extra money.
